Do you thrash your car?

Let it warm up and wait for the oil temp to hit at list 75 - 80 degrees, then thrash it to within an inch of its life. Power is so addictive though - you always want more more more!

I always wait for it to get up to temperature.

Then I'll thrash the life out of it :D

It's done 173k miles so far, and has probably been thrashed for quite a lot of it (when it's not been sitting on the motorway), and it has had regular servicing and checks all it's life.

Anyway, it'd be rude to buy a sporty car and not thrash it :D;)

I drive my car very hard. Only after about 15 minutes of slowish driving though. I do have a Water temp, oil temp and oil pressure guage though to help me. However the oil temp only really increases when its being belted, and stays at 1 notch if driven normally at any amount of time.

I just love the feeling of accelerating in a turbo car so I tend to use it lots.

Then of course taking on the track is loads harder on the car than anything you can do on the road

If i said no i dont i would be lieing.

I do thrash my car.

I always get Sub 27 Mpg out of a tank.. my car rarely sees city driving.

Don't really thrash it but it'll see 5000Rpm most days.

Never drive it hard from cold either. Wait till the oil pressure is at about 1Bar on idle.

Lowe, I don't know if you find this but the F7 lump seems to take a good 15-20 minutes to properly open up. I mean, the water temp will get to normal temp in about 10 minutes but the car feels less responsive than after 20 minutes warm up.

Well i thrash it quite a bit :D
I dont slow down all that much for a bumpy road, just enough so im safe.
Ive launched the car off of humps and bumps and got all the wheels off the ground quite a lot :D
I drive up to my limits and the car is holding together quite well.
The front wheels are the same colour as tarmac because of the caked on brake dust :o

Saying all that i do look way ahead of me to make sure i know someone isnt coming around the next bend or on the road.

Edit: Once i get a good car(most likely an MR2) all the fun dirt roads and launching spots wont be getting done anymore :(

I'm sympathetic to my car but I do drive it properly. I always let it warm up properly first (at least until the temp guage is at 89C) then I drive it like it was meant to be driven, at 8600rpm :)

I never crash it up kerbs or over speed bumps or anything of that nature but it just gets driven quickly, surely that's the whole purpose of a car like this?

8600rpm? That all? :D 9500 is where its at :p (I go to the beeps!)

My car doesnt let me thrash it if its not warmed up properlly.

One thing I always wondered... (as I am not in the remotest part a mechanic) does sunshine count as warming up? Since I got a black car it gets incredibly hot on sunny days...

No definatly not, its the oil that needs to be warmed up properly.

I quite often drive my car hard, but I always make sure the oil is warmed up before driving it hard and its serviced every 4000/5000miles or so.

I used to thrash my first car round my favourite country roads... I now no longer drive fast down country roads and I never drove/drive fast down any other roads unless it's a straight road and I can see all around me.

No wonder this country is turning into the nanny state that it is :(

dailt, once warm, with regular toyota servicing, i drove it like i stole it. its built for performance, and if its too cold it doesnt change cam profile and limitis me to 6500 rpm. Once warmed tho it lets me go through to 8.5krpm, and i generally do if i can
