Do you use a fill port or not, if not how do you fill up

Just wondering who uses a fill port or if you bother or not, if you don't how do you fill up the system, as was going to use a fill port but fittings alone to actualy sort it are going to be quite expensive as space is an issue

Bay Res or Normal Res?

Either way no lol ;)

Bay Res = Leave anough tubing so you can slide out an inch and fill up from out side of the case.

Nomrla Internal Res = Fill normally.

Ive never seen the point of a Fill Port since if you are going to have that extra tubing anyway why not just use a T-Line instead >.<

My res is external as my GPU was slightly too big so it didn't fit where planned. Need a bigger case for my next build, lol. So no fill port was required.

MY ek multi res 250 has in inlet on the very top, i simply undo it, lean the res out of the case and pop the funnel in. Top up with water and leave about 2 inch gap at the top and then just screw the stop back in :)

Don't have a fill port, just left the tubing to my bay res a little longer than necessary in order to be able to slide it out the front. That way I can just fill straight into the res, funnel helps spillage though :)

Planning on doing a total rebuild over the summer to incorporate my gpu in the loop and I will probably include a t line to make draining easier. It was a nightmare trying to drain the system without spilling when swapping my gpu a few months ago

I have the EK 150 res, I put a temporary barb in the unused top port and run a length of tube with a funnel on the end. This allows you to tilt the case about whilst fill without risking water slohing out of the res. When full remove the barb and put the blank plug back on.

I don't use an actual fill port that bolt to your case, just a fitting on the top of res with a piece of tubing sticking out the top of my case with a bung in the end. I wasn't going to but couldn't get enough tubing in my case to be able to pull drive bay res forward. Glad I did now though as so easy to top it up.

Previous to that, I had ek multi option and just a squeezey bottle with a long tube on the top, unscrewed the top blank fitting and filled it up.

Same res as me, thats the bit I don't get though as when you remove the tube will the water not just flow out as it sits lower in the system than the rads

Where can air come in to replace the water ;)
I understand your worry but the water cannot flow out of the top of the res since there is no where for the air to come in at the top of the loop.

i'm going to add a fillport at some point to make filling easier. at the moment, i've got a 90deg fitting to a bit of hose with a valve on at the top of my res as it's attached to the mobo tray. i'm going to put on at the front & top of my case, using the same 90deg fitting but without the valve (not needed with a fillport).

i'm also going to put one in the bottom of the case with a t-line just after the pump to make draining a lot easier.

they're worth it for ease of use imo, and maybe for a bit of bling factor ;)

Legs apart zip down take aim and let fire, don't forget your body has takin the bad stuff out via your kidnys IE:the ten pints you drunk last night. :D

I use a similar approach to Bubo and hyperst, except I don't remove the tubing in order to keep the reservoir full. One of these days I'll check my belief that a full reservoir contributes a lower pressure drop than a partially empty one.

There is a generic fill port on the end of the tubing to stop leaks, though as I haven't bothered to drill a hole in the top of the case I'm not sure it counts as a "fill port" in the usual sense.
