Just got a new N70 on contract and whethering I should bother paying £7 for a screen protector? Do you use one with your phone and would you recommend it? Not sure if I should bother as original replacement casings are only around £15 anyway!

I've got one of those hard plastic shell type cases on my N80, makes it a little more bulky but it doesn't bother me and its well worth the tenner it cost. Has saved it from no end of scratches and marks already.

I got a bodyglove free when i got an upgrade to my current K750i in June last year.
Still using it, and the phone still looks in top condition, almost new looking infact i'd say
So i'd also recommend some kind of screen protector or a case/cover for the phone itself.

£15? It was free in the box and I'm sure that other can be picked up for a couple of quid if needs be.

I leave the plastic on the screen for the first couple of weeks unless it falls off sooner so that I can return the phone more easily if necessary but I don't bother much normally. My phone screens do get a bit scratched but not enough to render them unusable plus most phone protectors/covers look a bit stupid to me.

some screen protectors defeat the object though,
mate fitted one to has pda phone, it got scratched up so when he removed it, it left aload of crap on the screen, he had hassel removing that, which also damaged the screen.
I tend to be precious with my toys. always have been, Face it, your more likely going to drop it than scratch the screen, and a screen protector isnt going to protect it from a drop.

Fitted the Martin Fields protector onto my Vario II today and you can't even tell its on.
Don't bother trying to fit one if your a perfectionist. Heres the scenario.
You wipe the touch screen so its dust free. You apply the screen protector and stick it down only to discover a spec of dust or two are trapped between the touch screen and protector in the middle of the screen.
Happened with mine but you don't notice when the screen is on. Only when its off.

Pricy at around £8.50 but the best you can make. Make sure you install it in a dust free environment.
Fantastic - will order one today.
I used Boxwave protectors previously on my Tungsten T3 - always found they were very good however they haven't released one for the K800/790 yet so I shall try something new.
I have found the best way to install them is in the bathroom after a hot shower as the moisture in the air clears the dust from the room.

I initially bought them to protect my gps screen, but have cropped a couple to fit my nokia 6680 and N73. I'd recommend them to anyone.
Very cheap, didnt get any customs charge, and only took a couple of days to get here.

For some screens I used to, but I find that on other screens, the distortion of the plastic causes the display to appear noisy - press an oily finger on a screen to see what i mean. These days, I figure every gadget has a shelf life and if it gets scratched - well, thats just life. Just enjoy the new toy while it smells new!
