Do you use AfterBurner and override fan curve

hey guys,

Was thinking over using a custom fan curve on AB for my GPU..it safe to do on a GPU that has the "stop" function as default when below 60c?

What are your settings for your setup.

Not currently, but I have in the past to deal with cards that had an awful default fan curve. It can also be useful for bypassing any annoying speed range(s) where the fans make an annoying noise. Sometimes you'll get some kind of resonance at a very specific RPM that goes away slightly above or below it, so you can ensure it never stays in that zone. There are no issues using it with a card with idle fan stop. Usually you just set a point on the curve to zero to engage that. These are the last settings I was using, though I don't remember what card it was for:

You should tune something specific to your card and noise tolerance, whilst keeping an eye on temperatures of course.

i do because by defauilt my 3090 hits 83c constant doing hardly nothing, as their default fan curve is broken only hits 30%
So i undervolt & increase FAn speed

I've just settled on a fixed speed of 37%, coupled with the undervolt, which is fine for 4K gaming & not being able to hear the card above my case fans.

Mate had to repaste and re pad his founder’s edition card not long after he got it as his temps were similar to yours.

i generally always use it for my undervolt for most games, fan profiles not as much, less power similar fps is a win win in my book

Its strange as under load its not crazy higher?..mabye low 70s..

most have 0 rpm mode until 55C-60C then they start fans up

I definitely play with it. No need for it to be noisy if the card isn’t hot.

Around 70c generally in most games. However, I just tried Starfield for the first time and I had to jack the fan speed up by 10% and even then it was hitting 80-85c!

I do. I use a simple curve. It basically has the fan off at idle and then a tolerable noise levels while gaming. Then panic when the power connector starts to melt.
