I use to use avast, avg and the like on win.
On win 10, stock defender is all good me.
Stick to safe browsing, ublock origin and you should be fine.

Just use the built in one with windows. As long as the definitions are up to date it should be fine.

What about Kaspersky? Does anyone use it?

Norton is way better in my opinion, but of course it is persoanal choice.
You can read more about this software, Bitdefender, Avira and many others in the blog and decide which one suits you better.
Mostly depends on your operating system and what do you use a particular device for.

Referring back to an older post - Windows Defender can have some undesirable behaviour - I had an old script file I'd created myself which had some vaguely malware like behaviour - Windows 10 kept throwing up complaints about it despite telling it to ignore it and a couple of times quarantined the file of its own accord (actually deleting with no sign of it). Fortunately had backups though didn't really need it any more.

I do find Defender is a bit naff when it comes to refusing to ignore on request or with exceptions
