Dock Problem?

My dock sometime goes down and up again and I dont know why it keep doing this

Have you checked the cable is plugged in the back of it right?

sorry think i have confused you here i was referring to the Apple Dock on the screen at the bottom with the apps... it goes down and up like it goes away and come back again

You've turned auto hide dock on in System Preferences by the sounds of it.

Nope it is off honestly it off but some time the dock just goes down and up it annoying me...

Justin what your using to tweak your dock?

Mine did that, few hours later, HDD died.

The dock does that when Finder relaunches, usually after installing apps. Does it just do it randomly?

I tweaked my dock myself, will reply to your email in the morning, been really busy.

It started to do this when I tried docker.... to alter my dock appearance but if I uninstall docker the dock does not return to defaults,,,

Yeah I tried that and the dock stays the same as how Docker made it.. So how do i get the dock back to apple default

My finder went all funny when it did the dock dissapearing act. Then a switched it off and boom, goodbye HDD. Sometimes it would start but you cant do anything, everything just restarts itself like Windows would do when explorer.exe falls over.

The link I posted above points to a corrupted file. But I think this problem has been caused by a piece of third party dock software conflicting with Finder.

Could try and install this? There is an option to restore the original dock.

I presume you mean the dock on an iphone/itouch? Just a thought, have you checked your settings for the power management on USB slots? It might be suspending the slots when it shouldnt be.
