DOD:Source framerates....

Could anyone with a similar spec machine to me, tell me roughly what DOD:Source runs like on there PC?. Im not sure mine is running as fast as it should.

I run it at 1280x1024 with x4 FSAA, x8 AF, max details. Currently it seems to run at about 35-45 fps. Some areas like the american end of argentan, can run as low as 20-30fps, which seems pretty bad.

Well I'm running Opty [email protected] 1gb ram and 7800gt with everything maxed and I get between ~30-90fps.

it is a bit taxing DOD:source, a lot more than CS:S for example.

i do get higher than 45, but the fps tends to be around 35-45 for the most of the time.

How do you get the FPS counter in DOD:S?

ive noticed drops in performance on certain bits/maps.

I use net_graph 3 but I've a feeling there is a way to display just fps not ping etc as well, but I don't know what it is

Think the other way is cl_showfps 1/2/3 (think theres 3 options...)

My pc is almost identical to yours, except i have a x1800xt, i also run the same res and settings. My fps is between 40-100 depending on map and location within the map, do you have the dual core patch for your X2, i found it fixed stuttering problems for me.

is a bit low for your setup. In 1280x1024 4xaa 8xaf I used to get around 60-90. in 1400x900 it goes down to around 45 in heavy action but usually it hovers around 60

Ok i tried it and it made little or no difference.

.....tell you what did though....

*hangs head in shame*

.... i had a 1gig stick of pc2700 ram in with 2xhalf gig sticks of 3200 ram and my system was running at 333mhz instead of 400mhz, im now also running dual channel. I must have put it there ages ago and forgotten it was slower ram :/

so does it work better now? just sell all of it and get 2 1gb pc4000 or better sticks
