Dodgy buyer?

Hello,

In need of your opinion. I have listed on a for sale forum elsewhere a MiniDisc player. I havent asked for a price, just for people to PM me with offers.

I was only expecting to get £30ish for it and have just received my first offer of £120. The catch is the member has 3 posts (none of which shed any light to him authenticity) His profile says he is from Waltham, MA in the US but he wants it sent to Jakarta.

I've heard of these dodgy Nigerian scammers, but not ones from Jakarta just yet. I have asked him what method of payment he uses and i expect him to say - "Western union wire transfer" or something equally dodgy.

Just need another opinion before i ignore him.

If something sounds too good to be true then it usually is.

My advice is to avoid him.

Avoid. £120 strikes me as being pretty high for a MD player (it's to sweeten the deal, otherwise who would pay that much?), then you've got the different addresses etc. It just strikes me as being pretty dodgy.

id try and find out a bit more before you actually commence with a sale, if your not satisfied ignore the dude!

get the money first, if it transfers to your account fine send it to him. Otherwise report him to ebay.

Never said it was on Ebay but if it is good point.

Scammers use WU because they get peoples credit cards and use them fraudulently. So the money is corrupt and may get taken back

Yeah WU is made for scamming so why would they give the other person there money back

western union is normally used by scam sellers not buyers
