Bought it at the start of the year.

Just booted up to find a corrupt registry.

chkdsk /r from the recorvery console has done 3 fixes so far.

Bad hardware or what?

Seagate Barracuda 320GB SATA..

Went to 75% then 50% just now.....tick tick tick...theres my problem..

Just backup your data now and get a warranty return on it. All drives will fail, how long they last is anyone's guess. Some are luckier than others.

I have no data. Its all programs and OS. The rest is on removable media. Work in IT so I know the value of backups...

How to get a warranty return? Through OC or HW supplier ?

Usually for WD, I go through them direct, as they turnaround pretty quickly and offer an advanced RMA service. It's up to you though, you have the choice.

Of the 12 Seagate drives I own, none have failed, so I can't comment on their returns procedure. I agree with semi-pro though, always run the fitness tool first and this will confirm it. Sometimes you can save these and print them out to include with the RMA.
