Dodgy hard drive?

Hi there, I've had few problems with corrupted files on my new PC but only games like Just Cause 2 and Civ 5, when this happens I re-install the game files and they play fine for a while before corrupting again. Causing me to do a 8 hour re download off steam

. Anyone had any similar problems and know whether it's a bad hard drive?

btw my hard drives a 1tb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA 2

First of all I would run a checkdisk (chkdsk) and then the Seagate HD tool to do a complete check on the disk. Search on Google for the links

Also do a memory check on your memory. Enter "windows memory diagnostic" into the win7 search bar.

I've ran all those checks now but there have been no errors detected in any of them. Still not sure whether it could be problem with STEAM as it's only steam games that are doing this

Make sure you have the latest drivers all windows updates and if all else fails disable all your start process.

Run > Msconfig
