Hi there,
Noticed the other day when plugging into to charge that the input where you plug in the iPhone to charge is dodgy, it takes some fiddling to get it to charge and as you can see from the photo one side is clearly not right.

Is there anything I can do about this or is it to the apple store? The phone is out of warranty to.. :(
Cheers in advance for replies

Firstly, are you 100% sure that you can't get it in properly? They sometimes can be a bit fiddly, new cables are particularly annoying and do loosen up a bit after a couple of uses.

Otherwise, you might have trouble as Apple could claim it to be broken through improper usage. Only you can really judge this.

Best bet is to explain to them what has happened if you want to deal with Apple.

Otherwise, check here: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-iPhone-4-Dock-Connector/3147/

Yes I cannot get it in properly, I have tried it with different cables and they are all the same. I have also tried different iPhones with the different cables they also work fine.
This is a replacement phone that replaced my original phone is October, unfortunately the 90 day warranty that came with that is out by only around 2 weeks :(
I expect better from a 3 and a bit month old phone frankly

Can you shine a very bright torch into the dock connector to make sure nothing has got stuck in there? Might just be some debris stuck in one side of it.

I had that problem, turned out after a lot of poking there was some black denim fluff in there. pulled it out with a needle and everything was back to normal.

Turns out this was the problem, the apple man clear out a little piece of mint or whatever it was aha. Still managed to get a replacement for my signal/dropping calls problem! - well pleased! :)
