Hey,

I got a dodgy parcel today, with no sender on it. It was a Royal Mail 1st Class delivery with some strange contents. It might be someone playing a prank, but I would appreciate some help in trying to track down where it originated from.

The image below shows the information (dodgy pic due to my phone camera at work):

1st class, Royal Mail, Postage Paid UK are the first three lines. The numbers in the subsequent lines I have highlighted with Photoshop. I assume that these numbers tell me where it came from (is IP31 a postcode?), can anyone with that kind of knowledge help me?

Thanks :)

The contents are two coffin banks.

My address is correct, so I don't think there has been a mistake. I don't know any companies from whom I could order something like a coffin bank so its not something that I ordered by mistake:confused: Clearly someone is either having a larf, or its a "message" The package itself is also a (rather battered) box which was used to deliver some kind of Garden Fairy (tracked down through printed on order code) before being used to send me this crap.

I, too, was wondering about IP31 being a postcode, but I don't know anyone anywhere near there

I'm toying with the idea to go to the PO, or perhaps even the coppers?

My neighbous got similar stuff.
From a similar random place if I remember rightly
I guess it's some people taking the **** trying to get people scared

Oh hang on what's a coffin bank?
I assume it's to do with death. They got like funeral brochures and a crapply drawn dagger.

A coffin bank is this toy where a skeleton is in a coffin, and when you drop some coins into it it does some strange arm movement thing, supposed to be spooky.

Inspection of the contents reveals that they originated from Tobar Ltd. (http://www.tobar.co.uk/) in Harleston, Norfolk, at IP20 (thus confirming that IP31 was a post code)

Curiously, I can't seem to find said Coffin Bank in their inventory.

There's a phone number there. I am tempted to give them a ring, but can I legally make them reveal to me who placed the order?

Gave them a ring, and they did not have any orders for my address in their systems. He also explained to me that had it been directly from them, there would have been a label on the box. He would not volunteer information about where these products had been sold to recently, which I understand (though I would have loved to know if any of them went to IP31 recently).

So, we have a bunch of coffin banks, purchased from that company, then forwarded to me once the mystery sender received them. The mystery sender is presumably near that retailer's location.

I'm confused  It's like a bad detective's story.

Your Egay/paypal accounts havent been hijacked have they?

Don't have paypal, eBay shows no activity, and anyway eBay is registered to my private mailing address, not my work address, which is what the parcel was delivered to.
