I am looking at buying a Garmin watch (I think OcUK do not sell them?) and have seen one discounted from £520 to £350 (watch only) on eglobalcentraluk.com The site looks pretty crappy and the amount of discount makes me sort of think its a scam. Anyone bought things from them or should i not touch with a barge-pole?

I bought last years gopro hero 7 from them, 60 quid cheaper than elsewhere. Took 6 weeks to arrive. Pay with paypal and you're protected. Make sure you pay the 9.99 insurance. 10 quid off vouchers out there if you Google it.

I've ordered a gopro hero 8 with them, 309 versus 379 everywhere else, just waiting for it to arrive.

Huge scam!!! Never recieved a computer that I ordered - waited months- send hundreds of emails unacceptable!!!! Was only ever answered by a machine saying it was out of stock, but it said it was in stock on the website!! Eglobal are thieves!!

This may well be the same outfit who have had at least 3 name changed before this but they were in UK (never mind above user posted as I was editing this).

They do not have any stock on certain items and enough people order it they will order it in bulk to save money but if not you get stung and they tell you their payment system has changed and you will need to do a charge-back to your card via the bank which I had to do for a WD VRaptor long ago which was about £120 new on the site.

AFAIK they have had 3 name changes doing this scam, the two pussies even had their photo online when they first launched as they were doing so well...

Just pay with PayPal, really simple to claim back. I use the same approach for sites like aliexpress, bangood etc. Perfectly safe to order from sites like this using PayPal, just be prepared for a long wait or even not recieving the item at all. For example, I'm in no rush for my Gopro and if its not here in 8 weeks, I'll raise a PayPal claim and order from elsewhere.

Have been looking to buy a new phone recently and some of the websites I was recommended are ******* atrocious. alibaba.com for one. How anyone thinks it a good idea to hand money over to such a haphazard site is beyond me.

Alibaba is like a Chinese ebay with the same caveat emptor. I prefer to use thier "amazon like" marketplace aliexpress. Again, use PayPal for both and you'll be fine.

Hmmm, guess there is a huge discount also because the watch has US and Canada maps only. It probably comes from US / Hong Kong
Still, for £150 difference I can just download the UK maps to the watch (for free)

This was about 2013 and I am sure they did not take PP AFAIR so I paid via banks Debit Card and had to go into bank months alter and talk to staff to get the cash back over the phone with someone at another office.

Something extra to bear in mind would be the warranty situation on these goods - as they're a 'grey' reseller you might not qualify for manufacturer coverage. Depends what you're buying though.

The website does have an SSL, they are just have 2 soft failures because they are loading in 2 images insecurely.

They're relying on Cloudflare it seems. Since the cert doesn't match the domain, I get warnings too.

EGlobalcentral is perfectly legitimate. I’ve ordered an iPad and MacBook from them previously and have had zero issues. Delivery is a bit slow but it’s a Hong Kong based company. The iPad and MacBook I ordered were for the US market but that was the only “concern” I had.

Do use PayPal though for extra protection. There’s no reason not to.

Paypals like a condom but make sure someone hasn't put a pin through it after you used it. :p

I wouldn't touch sites like this what so ever! Personal opinion. I would rather pay more for something knowing I'm going to get it in couple days.

I bought my S10e from them in March as did others here buy from them and all was perfectly fine.
