Nobody is claiming that 0.999999999999999999999999999999999999999=1. That would be incorrect, and silly.

However this is a mathematical question so opinions don't come into it, so there's bound to be "I'm right you're wrong" type thing
0.9r IS 1 though. It's just a different way of writing it really.

No, 0.999r is exactly one, there is no infinitly small difference or rounding up required.
