Hi all, I kinda asked this question in my other post but it went way of track and went on to something about pianos and break out boxes, lol, still never mind :) I just wanted to know if and how much fps can be gained using the fatal1ty version, All the articles ive read on the fatal1ty were giving it top marks 90% etc for gaming and spoke of fps improvement in gaming because the 64mb of ram takes the audio processing load of your cpu freeing it up for other things, kind works out in theory, but is this true??

Thanks

think some reviews showed no difference really may 1-2 extra fps...tbh its a gimmick

The ordinary ones fine but if u need the front drive/inputs and outputs which can be handy the plats about...

The blurb I have read says it could make a difference if only games were programmed to use it. I think one or two games may have had patches to make use of it but very few. I guess it may become standard in the next generation of games but at the moment it's useless.

Somone already did a quick comparision cant recall the link, showed BF2 (which makes use of the the X-fi) and there was only 1-2 fps difference if nothing, think in some benchies/cases it was lower!

And no there wont be no difference in sound quality if it plays off the card or hdd, and its still the same card what difference :)

All seems a bit of a waste then, I was hoping for a small fps boost, especially if im forking out £150, think ill try and sort out my audigy 2 first then..

thanks
