Does a gaming mouse require USB 2.0?

Basically I got a Razer Deathadder coming soonish and was wondering if it would function unhindered on a USB 1.1 port? Reason being my keyboard has only a USB 1.1 hub and I would like to connect the mouse via the keyboard rather than stretching it to the back of the computer. Would this be OK? Will the performance take any hits at all?

Cheers.

Its compatible - functional on 1.1 and 2.0. I'm not sure whether performance would be affected though with it being the inferior USB 1.1

I think the only difference is the transfer speed, but I might be wrong? If thats the case I am hoping it wouldnt affect it at all :)

Should work fine at 1.1 as I used gaming mice with that for years. USB1.1 has 12mbit bandwidth which is more than enough even for a mouse polling at 1000hz I would have thought.

For whatever it is worth I've used my G7 quite happily with my laptop and that only supports USB 1.1, I've also used my Intellimouse v3.0 with my front USB ports and they are also 1.1 I believe although I doubt that the Intellimouse requires USB 2 anyway. As HangTime says it is highly unlikely that a gaming mouse could saturate the USB bandwidth. :)
