Does a router exist, that just ****ing works?!

Helpful.

What would you suggest then?

Get an old PC and install pfSense if you're willing to put in the work to get it running. Consumer grade routers are fine for most people being a closed of package you just plug in but it you want something more robust then this is the way to go. Can customise with your own hardware to how you want it. Only downside is the power consumption of leaving it on 24/7.

I noticed quite a few people stating to bin the Netgear and D-link routers. I was led to believe the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 was held in quite high regard?
