Does an Intel warranty pass on upon resale?

I bought a retail/boxed i7-6700K in March 2016 and I believe Intel offer 3-year warranties with their boxed CPUs.

I am now selling the CPU on eBay UK (no original box, no original cooler).

Can the warranty pass on to the seller? If so, how do I go about it?

It doesn't transfer. If you read their terms:-
This Limited Warranty, and any implied warranties that may exist under applicable law, extend only to the Original Purchaser or the Original System Customer and last only for as long as the Original Purchaser or the Original System Customer continues to own the Product.

When you do claim, they just base the validity of the claim in the serials you give them. They won't ask for proof of purchase unless the code shows the CPU is x years old, but you insist it's newer.

If you have no box and no cooler a retail cpu won't be covered anyway, regardless of any warranty claim. To make a claim Intel insists the cpu is sent complete with box and cooler for a retail cpu.

Surely if you have the original cooler and cpu you'd be fine, I know my 3570k is way out of warranty now but I threw the box the minute I installed it!

I can only say what Intel told me when i had to return a retail Wolfdale E8500 a few years ago. Unless it was sent back with the cooler in the retail box, they wouldn't accept it. Luckily i still had the box and cooler.

I've been able to get an Intel CPU replaced under warranty that I didn't purchase a couple of years back.. All they wasnted was the serial numbers on the box and then they sorted a return the same day. No invoice or proof of purchase was needed.

The OP is asking if he can transfer the warranty that came with the CPU he bought new in March 2016 if he sells it to someone else.

The answer is still no, and there isn't a way to 'go about it' because it isn't possible.

What luck the purchaser might have with Intel in the future is irrelevant.

WTH did you do to them :D

I overclocked the crap out of them, non of them were dead , just unstable and degraded , only one of them i purchased new.

Then the answer to the OP has to be, try it because it seems Intel ignore there own RMA rules if it suits them.

On another note , it always amuses me how many anoraks threads like these attract, just accept it as a simple fact , most of the time intel offer a fantastic no fuss rma, whilst i am sure on the odd occasion they may ask for a proof of purchase just explain it was a gift, or USE YOUR PRINTER, its not rocket science.
