Does anybody else donate to Wikipedia or am I an idiot?

I've just had my yearly email from Wikipedia asking if I'm willing to donate and pressed the button to send £2.
For me Wikipedia is awesome and I use it regularly, three times today but am I being ripped off?
Do they actually need my £2?

Thanks for keeping it alive for the rest of us :D

I have donated a couple of times just to get it to leave me alone.

No I don't donate to Wikipedia.
They don't need the money.
I don't get any value from it, I'd be fine if it didn't exist.
The couple of times I've made correction edits a troll has appeared from under a bridge to revert my edit. Leaves me with the impression they prefer to be incorrect when it suits them.

I donated once because I have used Wikipedia quite a lot over the years and now get begging emails from them a few times a year.
I was actually about to donate to them again a while back but then, just as I was about to do the transaction, a message on there popped up saying something along the lines of "hey, why not set up a regular direct debit instead of this one-off". I promptly cancelled the transaction and have ignored their begging bowl since. Cheeky buggers.
