Does anybody passion for photography get them in to trouble or blind them to common sense?

Over the years I have frequented a number of hotels with the same photo on their walls that seemed to embedded themselves in my brain. Approximately a week ago I found myself looking at the inspiration for the photo and attempted to take the shot. Unfortunately for me I neglected to look where I was going and inverted my ankle by falling in to a four foot deep ditch. Despite getting the photo I am now looking at an eight week recovery time before I will be able to walk properly again. Has anybody else had any mishaps due to spending too much time looking through a lense and not enough time looking where they were going? Curiously the hospital Doctor told me the majority of her patients were health and safety experts.

Yeah multiple times lol,

The worst was at Coyote Buttes South in Utah/Arizona, looking for a spot in the daytime that I could use for a sunset (38 degree heat) I placed my canteen on a rock somewhere, then walked through a labyrinth of rocks, boulders for about half a mile before I realised I'd left it, which was bad as I had no water..... very bad.... decided to keep looking for a spot (because I'm stupid) - found one and shot sunset, by this point I was really thirsty and started getting dizzy, I went through this weird dreamy phase of stumbling in a vague direction back to my Jeep, through a strange dizzy world of 30ft high cacti, deep sand and thunderstorms, I can't describe it - I was so exhausted I almost felt drunk, but boy - I went through about half a case of warm water from the back of the Jeep when I finally made it back,

I do a lot of sports photography for the local papers, and while one eye is to the camera, the other is always open and watching both where I'm going, but more importantly what is coming towards me!

I nearly won £1 Million on the lottery once.
I went out photographizing one time, but it wasn't until I looked at the lottery number the next day. That I realised I should have bought a ticket and chosen the same numbers that had won.
You live and learn. Now I can't take a photo without thinking about the day I just made up ;)
