Does anybody use a VPN service?

Tomshardware do a regular survey so there's a few to choose from but they may be US biased. Regardless PIA (PrivateInternetAccess) are usually at the top and that's who I've been with for months.

They have a couple of UK access points and I'm usually a few mbps below my max when connected. So 70 mbps is typical as I'm on FTTC (Fibre).

PIA are brilliant and you can have 5 devices connected at any time with them. They also give you some free very high speed proxys to use if your a torrent user.

Cheers for the replies guys!

I have heard PIA come up a lot while doing research.

Anybody used PIA on IOS devices?

Also I thought there was no need to use a proxy while you are using a VPN service while torrenting etc?

I posted benchmarks on this thread on my work connection from my 6+. The work connection is hardly quick but wired at home yields pretty close to line speed - more so if I use a UK based server. I have no complaints with PIA and have used them for a few years.

Thanks for the reply Avalon!

I have just signed up. I connected to the London server and was getting 40Mbps/s on my 100Mbps. I changed to the Southhampton server and now getting 100Mbps. So no speed loss at all! Great!

My only question I have is how do I set it up for QTorrent? I have tried TorGuards test torrent file and my VPN is working. But is there any settings I need to turn on/off in the torrent client? Do I need to add a proxy too?

Cheers guys!

It's fire and forget, no additional configure is required. What you tend to find is that depending on what server you use the speed will change, PIA list load/bandwidth available on the site so you can see what is maxed. In general Southampton is a better shout than London for me, but the benchmarks I ran were based on using a US server.

I use "NordVPN", have done for about the last year.

Works pretty well, it occasionally has some issues with servers going down (maybe once a month) but generally all gets sorted within a few hours.

You have the option of using their app, or configuring manually.

Cheers for all the comments guys really helped me out! I even seem to be getting a little bit more speed while using the VPN, how? lol

In regards to torrent apps, I have read I need to disable uPnP?

You can read PureVPN review, they are offering 69% with free smartDNS service that provide fast speed while streaming online also they have specific servers for torrent that give best up and download speed.

What servers are people using for airvpn

I seem to get really poor speeds with them on my Virginia 150mb connection. Using the windows app getting about 6-10mb/s , without the VPN I can get 17.
