I started doing some online gambling about 6 months ago & i started recording some of the following stats.

Deposit amount / Bet / Spins/ Wins per first 5 spins / Time of Day / Jackpot amount

I was curious if i could 'beat' the system. the first month i tried betting on dogs etc. then i tried slots, something I've spent a lot of time on in the real world too. (owned a bunch & tinkered with their settings)

the first thing i noticed is the longer you are away from the sites the more you can win when you return

So i setup a schedule that on payday every month i deposit £20 here are my results

i dont "enjoy" gambling, but i enjoy the actual game, working out features & going around the board etc. be happy to play these without any money involved

First month
Deposit £20
Won £10
Profit £10
Time: 20m
average bet 20p

Second month - noticed a pattern that jackpot amount & time of day helps wins
Deposit £20
Won £30
Profit £20
Time: 10m
average bet 20p

third month - noticed that you can win multiple times by switching bet type & have a "winning" streak
Deposit £20
Won £50
Profit £30
Time: 20m
average bet 40p

Fourth Month - noted you can win multiple times by switching games that are not owned by the same provider.
Deposit: £20
Profit: £100
Time: 28m
average bet 20p

Fifth Month: noticed tha some games pay out higher by default & delaying re-spin helps make the game pay out (thinking your going to leave)
Deposit £20
Won £200
Profit £180
Time: 40m
asverage bet 20p

sixth month: - noticed That mega win Slots are useful indicator of how many are online & how likely a jackpot will spit out.
deposit £20
Won £250
Profit: £230
Time: 35m
Average bet: 20p

I'm Not suggesting anyone gambles or you should gamble, Just sharing my facts. My wife kind hates my "luck" but she gets a gift every so often :D

Does anyone else gamble responsibly?

Only if you manage to stumble upon a logic error in the algorithms which are designed to keep people feeding money into them, while while possible, would probably be unlikely. Its clearly been set up to tempt people back who have gone away from it (probably morally questionable) but intended in such a way that the house doesn't loose long term, the only way to gain is if there is an edge case they hadn't considered or a bug that causes the system to fail to do what it was designed to do. Of course if such was discovered and it got used a lot, it would distort the figures enough that it would get fixed.....

indeed correct,

i reported a website bug i found to said site, where it had massive memory leak After 1 hour it would consume 16GB of memory from this 1 tab alone. all people in chat was complaining of LAG.

reported it, videoed it sent chrome debug logs & network stats, was 100% repeatable (tried 20 times across 3 boxes). They could not find it.. sent a email to the CEO (searched online) who put me in contact with the top end support.
Who reported it to their software team. They still could not find this bug, when it was 3 steps, Go into game room, open another game room & switch Rooms. every few minutes.
that was 6 months ago & its not not fixed..

you could see chrome debug memory usage skyrocket within seconds.

So even raising a bug to the CEO & informing them of intentional risks didn't help....

possibly not saying its not, but thus far its working for me, & finding it interesting to see patterns

But there aren't patterns, that's the thing. You are just thinking there are. Someone on this forum works in the gambling industry and has spoken about this before but I can't recall his name.

I bet you've also lost a fair number of times but "forgot" these. I'm always going on about number 25 in Roulette coming up more than it should, and always play 25 and when it comes up I make a big song and dance about it which consolidates the idea it comes up more often than it should. Of course, my friends nor I never remember the times it doesn't come up.

I thought this was gonna be another crap joke.
Turned out to be the beginning of a lifelong affliction

I'm pretty sure that if you could prove they were manipulating the odds based on your play style the Gambling Commission would have a lot to say about it TBH.

Don't get suckered into thinking you're beating the booky. The system is rigged and can ruin your life if it gets a grip.

Keeping your stake at £20 per month is a good idea, but otherwise I wish you luck into extracting as much cash as possible from the robbing *******.

I gave up on regular fruit machine years ago and started online gambling in 2017, playing the online version of fruit machines. They usually have 5 reels though instead of 3. In an average year, I'm up or down around £200. This year so far, I'm up £190. The most important thing to do is - SET A LIMIT! You can go into your account settings and set it in there, then it takes effect immediately. If you want to remove the limit, you have to give the casino 1 week's notice, so it's a good system to prevent gamblers from making impulse decisions. Also, stick with 1 casino only!

I have a friend who also does online gambling and we do "bonus hunts". That's where we load fruit machine no.1, keep playing it until you get the bonus, but don't play the bonus. Instead, shut it down. Do the same with fruits no.2, no.3 and so on, until you run out of money. Make a list of the fruits that you have managed to get bonuses on. And then... play them all out! You will end up with a final amount based on all of the bonuses added up. Sometimes you'll end up with less what you started with, other times you end up with more. Whichever way it turns though, I find it a very fun way of gambling. I'm also more likely to cash the winnings out, even if I made an overall loss. It just means that I have only spent some of my budget.

What are your favourite fruits and what casino do you play on guys?

I play on Videoslots and my faves are:

- White Rabbit
- Laser Fruit
- Fruit Warp
- Bar-X Safecracker
- Wild Heist at Peacock Manor
- Spinal Tap
- Punk Rocker
- Dragon Match
- Survivor
- Danger High Voltage
- The Goonies
- Holy Diver

Unless you're collecting a bonus then gambling on electronic table games is pointless - it's just an -ev bet... there is no system you can come up with to structure your wagers so that any sequence of -ev bets on a table game become +ev bets...

Gambling a few times and then deciding that that your results constitute a pattern and then assigning some narrative to it based on basically eyeballing the data is just not very feasible, you're likely just spotting patterns in randomness.

No Jammin Jars? :o
The Bandit over on Youtube won £100k on £6 stake on it, was mental

Ahh I have tried Jammin' Jars a few times! Not done that well on it though as it relies on the jars being close together. When I play on it, the jars practise covid-19 "social distancing" lol. Those type of games are weird because they're not like fruit machines but more like Bejewelled on an 8 x 8 board.

I forgot to say on my other post that I normally bet 40p as well like the op. 20p is a bit low for me, but anything like 30p, 40p or 45p is normal for me, depending on how many lines the machine has.

OP, I used to write software for online gambling. Unless you luck into a bug you will lose long term. And if you do then in all likelihood the company will use their T&Cs to get the money back if it's significant. There is no 'system' you can come up with - bet outcomes are driven purely by (highly regulated) random number generators. The entire logic of the games you're playing is driven by these random numbers, everything you see on screen is just window dressing

You probably know the above already but just in case you don't and feel tempted to start betting more.

They used to make these casino games in flash and you could decompile them to see the inner workings. Manipulate the data etc.

No you couldn't. Bet outcomes are decided server side. Any casino doing it on the client side would go bust about 5 minutes after launching the game.
