Does anyone else bite their nails?

Mine grow really quickly and get annoying so I bite them off, they grow quickly again. If they didn't grow so quickly and get annoying I would have stopped biting mine. Luckily as I only bite the ends off they look ok in a day or so.

I bite mine but not right to the bottom like in your pic, I bite them instead of clipping...bite maintenance :D

...I do the same with my toenails by picking them.

I used to bite mine but not like that  I don't know why I stopped, I just did, now I clip them every few days (they do grow quickly, much quicker than toenails).

:( you need to find something to replace the habit.

Nails will grow back eventually, but it will take time.

I'd want to suggest taping them up so you can't get to them, but you're not five.

Wow, I bite my nails but no where near as excessive as that.

Just avoid touching them for a week or so then get someone to give you a manicure (no homo)

If we're getting on to other body parts, I do tend to chew the insides of my cheeks and lips (mouth; I'm a bloke) a bit...

My mother managed to stop my brother biting his nails by making him keep his boots on.

I had a pair of clippers on my desk at work which I used to clip my nails if I tore them etc. Seeing me doing it my works colleague once asked me what was wrong with biting them. He used to bite his so low that the fleshy part of the end of his fingers overlapped the nail. I'm surprised that he could actually get his teeth into the nails. It can't be hygienic.

I find this unbelievably uncomfortable even if I clip mine just slightly too short. I can't imagine what it must feel like to have effectively no nail to the end of my finger.

Whoa whoa whoa... I always thought of "biting your nails" being habitually biting off the ends when they grow longer than the end of your finger.

leoncc's fingers are far beyond that. How do you manage to whittle it down to so little nail without ending up in constant pain?

I am told they get more in-grown as you keep biting that suggests it should hurt more and more, maybe his fingers have adpated to constant biting.

I also bite the skin aruond my nails, you don't notice it until you go in the shower then it all expands, at that point you see every bite mark on every nail.

Yeah, I'm awful for doing that, myself. Especially the thumbs. Tasty, tasty finger calluses om nom nom nom.

I used to but recently stopped, nails are in such a better condition now and I rarely get those annoying flaps of skin on the side of my fingers now

Spit :3

Day 3 still not touched them, have had the urge a lot, slightly picking with hands instead of teeth now I have that nasty tasting stuff on them, definitely working, will start pushing back the cuticles next week and filing/lotion

Yeah I don't get pain anymore :/
