Does anyone else find this disturbing?

Western society has been in decline for a while in terms of moral behaviour.

I was reading a story in the Daily Mail this morning about a woman who married a millionaire, the basis of the story was that he became addicted to Poker and lost all of his money so she left him. So much for the whole "until death do us part" thing. :p Most marriages are marriages of convenience which is why divorce rates are so high.

3.30pm home time for some kids song's just come on the Radio about S and M for the sake of the kids childhood stop this madness

Personally, I think the outrage and censorship about that particular song was misplaced. The lyrics aren't half as bad as many other songs.

It's not just kids these days though it was the same when I was little and at school back in the 90's..... I remember at the time of the "Outhere Brothers" I was about 13 or 14 and the whole school raved about there two hit's "Boom Boom Boom" & "Don't Stop Wiggle Wiggle"
Yes they released the softer lyrics in the UK but it didn't stop all us kids, Girls and Boy's
singing to the original rude versions plus I even got a copy on casette that was being passed around the school and almost everyone took a copy.... I Even remember some kids got caught listening to it on Maths it got that bad that it was brought up in the whole school assembly about those two songs being played in school.

So you see times change but Kids will always want and be interested in things that they shouldn't....... Think back further in time and you will see the same sort of stuff happning to kids.....

Indeed. At least there is no profanity.

*Youtubes the video"

There may not be profanity, but it still opens up children to new ideas etc. At 11/12 years old, they're starting to understand what sex is. Unecessary to introduce them to ideas such as s&m, bondage etc. That's why I think censorship was justified.

They might say the lyrics but propably do not understand the meaning.

Last week my 8 year old son was angry spouting all kinds of swearwords he had heard, when I asked him what they actually meant he had no clue.

Ooo I'm on a right morale high horse now, have switched off the radio!!!

If not about sex it's about DRINKING and Domestic Violence

What is the world turning too? I'm gonna stick with my Classic FM :D

Instead of putting your fingers in your ears, and ignoring it all; why do you not engage with your children on these issues and teach them right and wrong? By denying the existence, you're not making the 'problem' better or making it go away but you are infact making it worse.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but chains and whips excite me.

She also deepthroats a banana in the song, extremely suggestively.
I do find it a little surprising that music videos like these are shown before the watershed on national TV...

I've not seen that particular one myself, but I'm sure many of them try and bend the rules without breaking them...

S&M and bondage, whilst adult, are very mainstream activities. I don't see how this is any worse than many other songs.

Why not? A lot of crap in a lot of galleries seem to get worshipped.

Generally because it is done by people with reputations though. Damien Hirst is the classic example, he doesn't actually make the art he claims as his own. He has an idea, somebody else makes it for him and he gets the credit.

Standards of artistic talent are either misdirected or seem to have vanished imho. Crap by people whose politics is more prevalent than their mediocre artwork (Tracy Emin?) overshadow people with genuine talent with the tools to make artwork.

They'd probably see it on youtube before the TV anyway.

I suppose you have a point Mutts.

Although I think I've mananged to musically block that part of music out of my life the whole teen pop thing just did my head in.

I had the same rage I think when I first heard Britney Spears Hit me baby I remember switching off the radio and being irritated with the fact that it promoted domestic violence LOL :)

Guess I am a prude
