does anyone else have to keep hitting the on button

Just make sure you have the latest drivers downloaded from your vendor for your chipset etc and all should be fine. Glad it worked for you!

Can confirm it's related to ACHI. I had problems with "boot sector" and it fixed them. I then re-enabled after first boot and all was fine.

2500k + Asus 67 pro B3 rev.

I recieved a new bios chip from a seller on flea bay for my vanilla Asus P8P67 which had been causing the keyboard to lockup after a cold boot. The chip has the latest bios which I'd tried with no sucess, but this time the board seems to be behaving itself perfectly at least at stock speed on the bench it is. Time will tell if it continues to behave I'll get another cpu and have a spare Sandybridge rig maybe I'll try overclocking as well. :D

cheers for the thoughts and suggestions guys, and good at least to know i am not the only one. i have the newest bios already. its not a disaster, hopefully by the time i ever get my b3 board sorted it will be fixed (am on B2 at moment)

its interesting disabling some of the sata ports worked for 1 person esp as i too have a solid state, however with 4 ports already out of service thanks to a faulty board, i cant spare taking any more away.

cheers

M

Thats it whats the point of having a motherboard where you cant use it 100% its not what you paid for.
