Does anyone else not get on with memory foam mattresses?

Tried one recently and while it was more comfortable from a support point of view than the knackered old sprung mattress I currently sleep on, I found it far too hot. I’ll be changing my mattress later this year and I think I’ll stick with conventional springs tbh ...

Had a couple of memory foam mattresses but they were not comfortable and were very warm so recently bought a Simba mattress which is fantastic.

I think my memory foam mattress has dementia, it remembers my wife perfectly but every time I get in it feels like someone else has been lying on it

Never got on with memory foam. Too hot and I find they really irritate my bad back. I sleep best on a cheap rock hard extra firm non-pocket sprung mattress with next to no padding on it :D

We had a mattress for years that we decided should be replaced as could feel the springs prodding in. Went shopping. Loved the feel of sinking into soft, cozy memory foam mattresses but decided not to as they were hot and expensive. Ended up getting a medium-soft pocket sprung one with memory foam top. After about a month my back was in a state. I worked out it was the mattress after a while and swapped it out for a medium-firm one (despite it's still quite soft on the top mem foam layer imo). Cured my back within two weeks. I never realized I needed the support until I swapped to one which was apparently too soft.

They are horrible for me. I have long standing back issues and they are a nightmare. I've tried all of the TV advertised ones and returned every single one within the warranty/trial period.

The only one that came close to working for me was the Silentnight Studio mattress, which comes in three firmness ratings. I chose the most firm one and it lasted only 6-12 months before I had to get rid.

All in all I wouldn't touch them but it's a personal preference isn't it?

I've never liked them, too hot and i move around a lot in the night so they're really uncomfy as you're always falling back in to the groove you made.

We bought a decent firm pocket sprung mattress and my back has never been better, i would wake up a bit achy sometimes with our old softer mattress.

I always notice it whenever you stay in a hotel how soft the beds are and i always wake up with back ache after a day or so :(

Some people love them but they're 100% not for me.
