Does anyone have a £1 note, £3 coin or a £100 note?

What years were that, if you don't mind me asking ?

My school years? I left secondary school in 1988. So I spent pretty much all of my youth with £1 notes. Frankly I would love to see them brought back, I find the pound coins so clone-like of other countries currency. Bring back the old £1 note I say ! Hurray for Sterling !

Cool, just overlapped my first couple of years :p I think that the notes are very neat, I think pound coins to be too clunky. Start a petition! :D

Five pound coin for the millennium, with three commemorative £2 coins issued for the 1986 Commonwealth Games, 1989 Tercentenary of the Bill of Rights, and Euro 96. All obtained through shops, hence being a bit tatty

I have a ton of £5 coins. Probably around 20 just gathered in draws around the house. Nothing else though, and nothing worth more than they're worth (if that makes sense).

I've got a £5 coin. I'll sell it for £20.

I'd love to see a shops reaction if you tried paying with that :p
Don't think most places would take the £5.

Yeah but then shops wouldnt have to take it (legal tender only applies to debt repayment iirc)

Plenty of £1 notes here ;)

Yup, still in use here, not sure why you guys stopped using them, better than getting given a handful of £1 coins, hate that!.

There's probably a lot of £5 coins about (well, not in relation to other coins, but they aren't rare) as they seem to get used to commemorate all sorts of stuff. My dad got a Nigel Mansell £5 coin in the early 90s for example.

not heard of a £3 coin, but my dad's got quite a few commemorative £5 coins (amongst other things) from over the years. i remember picking a few up in the post office a few times.
