I have had one for some time and it has been fine however..........................

So the card allows you to add mutlple credit and debit cards to it, and set which one you want it to use.

it also has a go back in time function which allows you to move a purchase from 1 card to another. i have done this a couple of times and it worked fine.

2 weeks ago i bought something and accidentally charged it to the wrong card.... It was no big thing however as it had the back in time function i activated it and moved my £280 purchase to another card.

unfortunately............. whilst the charge did move to my other card................... the primary card did not get a refund and worse than that 2 days later I got charged £280 AGAIN

so now instead of 1 charge of £280.......................... I have 3!.

I tried to open a ticket but was forced to wait 10 days before i could get past the bot. i have done it now and put a ticket in and had a reply back saying due to being busy it may take 3 days for a reply.

I am just wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and how it got sorted. I contacted my card with the 2 incorrect transactions on, any my option there was to claim fraudulent transaction, which i do not want to do yet as that sounds like a nuclear option.

TBH i am thinking of binning off the curve card and going back to having a wallet full of credit and debit cards.

I've never seen that before.

But Curve aren't long for this world anyway, Lloyds are buying them and I can't see them keeping it running as a service that incorporate competitors

hopefully if they do wrap up they will have to honour all credit and sort out all issues
They should sort your issue even before they wrap up...

Sorry to hear you haven't got your refund back after 2 weeks. Maybe worth making a complaint? From recent experience, that seems to have a better effect on various companies than contacting regular support.

Details on the email address, what subject line to use and contents of the email are here: https://help.curve.com/how-do-i-make-a-complaint-rk2gS_2Iu

FWIW, I had a similar issue with Curve a couple years ago, but fortunately I was refunded in a few days. A few days after that, I decided to bin off Curve altogether as I didn't want to rely on a turd of a feature like this. Although it sounded good on paper, I was hearing other people having similar issues, so just thought I'm better off going back to my wallet of cards rather than going through this hassle with them. That's what I did, binned off Curve and went back to my trusty wallet of cards.

I guess Curve's USP was offering cashback for going through their service, but the main reason I used it was because of being able to add a Crypto.com card years ago - Apple Wallet covers most use cases for card payments these days. I still have the Curve card but barely use it, and I didn't have an issue as bad as that @bigmike20vt :(

Well it took some faffing (curve have still not got back to me yet) but crypto. com support just got back to me and have released the funds back to my account in the last hour.
I would love to know if it would have happened without intervention automatically or if they did something on my behalf... however they closed the ticket.
still..... that is £273 I was close to giving up on

(one of the transactions got sorted quickly)

That's a bit obvious considering it's a debit card and S75 is for credit cards.
It's not that obvious if you're paying with a CC behind the curve card, in the same way a lot of people don't realise they lose s75 cover if they pay using a CC attached to their PayPal account.

People assume the payment is being taken from a CC therefore S75 will still apply.

You can add credit cards to it and it's the credit card company that is ultimately providing the credit for the purchase in that case. So no it wasn't completely obvious, but I did become aware of it before ever using it.

I’ve used Curve for years, generally just for small payments here and there.

But in July, I added Curve as my card for a cruise.

The way the cruise company works is that they place a pre-auth each night for an amount they think you’ll spend. Then, at the end of the holiday, they settle the full bill and release the pre-auths.

My total bill was around £600, but the pre-auths added up to about an extra £700 (so was out of pocket for £700 for almost a month). I spoke to the cruise company at length, and also to the end credit card provider, but got nowhere. I eventually had to submit a support ticket, and it took almost three weeks before they finally cancelled the pre-auths.

(Note: I’m sure you used to be able to phone them, but that option seems to have been removed.)

Because of this experience, I’ve basically stopped using the card — it’s become a bit of a risk.

Only reason I use Curve is because Barclaycard avios cards still don't support Google Pay?!

just had a message from curve 3 weeks after sending a complaint. I have had my refund so forgot about it tbh but they mailed to say they had taken far too long to respond and I can either take it to the ombudsman which they gave details or accept a £15 apology.
given I had had the refund I am taking the £15. bit of a brucey bonus seeing as I was not expecting owt
I think I am still gonna sack it off however
