Yeah, it's great if you get stuck on derivatives, integrals and whatnot. Most of the non maths data is too american to make it useful for everyday stuff.
Use it fairly frequently for maths stuff or for looking up scientific information, things like the current locations of planets in the sky, that sort of thing.

Google Skymap if your phone has the appropriate sensors is great for locating celestial objects - it can even do reverse lookup.
Regarding Wolfram Alpha I don't use it much (probably should use it more) but I've always been impressed with the information it returns i.e. I can search on google for information on a mathematical concept, read all the articles and wikis on it and still not understand it, tap it into WA and immediatly get information presented on it that makes perfect sense to understanding it.
