cant seem to get it to work......
chap authentication error = username/password wrong ???? im 100% i entered it correctly.

i have the vyprvpn server and username and password but does not want to connect...
does anyone know why... does this router work with vyprvpn ?

i dont want to setup a server i want to set up a client so my router and anything wireless connected to it has a different ip for netflix.

What type of VPN are you trying to add?
Can you take a screenshot of the router's VPN configure page with sensitive information removed?

sorry about the size of the pic i was in a rush and forgot to reduce size lol
as you can see connecting to a vpn via client mode should be as easy as entering
server address
username
and password

but when i try to connect it comes up with in the log
chap authentication no user in database error

You are on the wrong page, that page is to set up your own VPN server so you can connect to your home network from the internet.

Any way you can enable Open VPN instead of PPTP?

Open VPN is way ahead.

Could you give us a report on VyprVPN too please?

Speeds etc.

Have you tried the OpenVPN option?

You're looking at the VPN Server page, check the top, it says 'VPN Client' :)

Not sure I'd want to route all my traffic through a 3rd party VPN mind.

I have tried the client side guys and i keep getting issues.
does anyone have a link to a working opvn openvpn file that i can upload to the router to use that and all i edit in the file is the username/password and server.

there is a bit to upload the file settings within the client section so i need a working file i have tried a few but getting errors like chap authentication failed or there is no ca certificat authentication in the file and stuff like that....

cheers.

can you just use the vpn on your main machine then stream the content to where you want it?

im not sure how to do that....... would rather the router be setup and route out to pc and wireless to other devices....

much easier you would think huuuh

having had a quick look at your router specs I don't think you can use Open VPN and if it was me I wouldn't use the PPTP or other options you have otherwise.

I have Air VPN set up on a machine downstairs and that machine is networked and controllable by team viewer from where I'm sat now so I can choose what server I want to log in to and then stream whatever I'm looking for from there to any device on the network.

If you have the vpyr vpn pro package you can use 2 devices simultaneously anyway so why not just install the windows/linux app on your pc and whatever app you need for the wireless device you want to use?

I've been considering a pfsense router/firewall build for exactly this purpose in fact but it's not cheap to get a really good, fast and secure Open VPN set up going at all.

as you can see the settings are there for VPN to setup as a client i have 3 protocol options..
so as you can see the router is capable of doing this but i don't know why i cant do it lol

ok mate thanks for your help im off to work now as i work night shift lol
i will give your info a look through and report back later tomorrow evening

hi mate gave it a try and does not seem to work :(:( arghhh im never going to get this working with this router lol

just refuses to connect to anything and spits out errors for some reason when trying to connect...

I'd suggest having a look on the VyprVpn forum for anyone else either having the same issue as you with this router or any similar threads in general.

Did you grab an ovpn file from vyprvpn and import it into the router?

Or try using the manual settings and putting in some vyprvpn dns and server addresses?
