Does anyone know the first thing about torches?

My dad bought one that claims to have the power of a :edit: million candles. Its insane, you can point it at someone 10 metres away and they'll feel the heat coming off it. He used it for walking the do etc in pitch black woods...

Does anyone remember the old torch thread before christmas? That was a 5 star thread! I've got a 5 million candle torch because of that thread - the actual torch has a diameter of about 20cm and can light up the top of a ~ 5 story tower block if shone straight up :D

Yeah I got something like that from Homebase - 2,000,000 candles apparently. The battery seems to last about 10 mins though :(

LEDs are much more energy efficient, there is no real loss of energy in the form of heat as there is with a normal bulb.
LEDs are the future, now commonly used in car rear lights and increasingly in laptops and LCD panels and also in projectors.

I'm interested to know why you would be using nightvision... alias Sam Fisher?

Not much good for a walk through the pitch black woods then?

Perfect if it happens to be a horror film...
