Are you sure people below 18 cant work there becuase of the 18 certificates? Supermarkets employ from 16 and up, they can put out 18 certificate films, alcohol and what not, and work on the tills (well Morrisons/safeway and sainsbury) for definate.

When they charge 16.99 for a majority of non chart CDs its not such a bargain :D
I always find them to be quite competitively priced! Especially when you're working in the stock room, and can sniff out the bargains before they appear on the shelf. Best present was the complete collection of Poirot DVDs for one of my friends - was coming up incorrectly priced as £30, so I just stuck a reserved sticker on it and bought it at the end of the day for £21. Not bad for about 40 DVDs.

AFAIK they can't, they have to get someone else to do it otherwise it's breaking the law.

Yeah but if you think of the amount of 18 cert products someone like HMV must sell every day thats an awful lot more to be vigilant on! Plus I'm fairly certain you shouldn't 'legally' be part of the transaction if you are under 18.

I know for an outright FACT that the one DG is looking at applying to DO NOT employ under 18s.

In most supermarkets they have permanent checkout managers to validate transactions of 18+ goods for the till jockies HMV do not have this luxury

Blockies are ALWAYS recruiting pretty much for that reason

I'll keep an eye open for vacancies for you, check the KM too ;)

I think it's minimum wage stuff but I'm not 100% sure. Been a while since I was looking to apply there.

Thanks mate, any extra help I can get is very welcome. I'm open to most things really - but looking for as little pressure as possible :p

EDIT - Did see a job in the KM last week actually for a network technician position at sutton valence school, might apply for that too...

I figured that may well be the case :( but I'll apply anyway, you never know. I've been with the orange shirted moped riders for nearly six years and I've hated the job for about the past five :p I just seem to be stuck there.

Wouldn't it be sickening if I couldn't even get a job at HMV :( scary thought!

£5.80 with an increase after 3 months and then again after 3 months

What a great inventor Mr A G Bell was :D
