Can a kind person go to where the Festival is meant to be and report back on the field conditions? :o

It's supposed to be absolutely drenched...but that was a few days ago?

They are sucking the water up as we speak. It will be ready for the festival unless they get a sudden lenghty wet spell which is not likely.

Showers due in that area tomorrow. But I would be taking wellies with me.

Okay, found my wellies..i'll play it by ear tomorrow..perhaps have them attatched to my rugsack somehow.

So you're in Reading? How are they sucking up the water..just..a big lorry with a pump?

Yup, about 6 tankers with pumps and they are actually hovering up the water I kid you not.

I can see lorries moving around from my window :D i must say i haven't been down near the site but from here the grass does look reasonably green (is that a good measure of dampness) considering its been drizzling all day.

Hard to get pictures to be fair, if you go down there its all surrounded by trees and they wont let you on the site, only place you i can think to take pictures from is the top of the park across the road from me. however someone might have a better idea

Tomorrow (repost to remind me, early) i could go up and see what i can get but bearing in minds its about a mile away and will be on a phone camera :(

weather's been overclouded with some rain.

Mental note - work from home on that Thursday/Friday! I work in Green Park on the A33 (ie where the big Wind Turbine is).

1) Go to Caversham Court. Climb one of the tall trees, take pictures from the other side of the river.
2) Cover yourself in cold mud (like Arnie in Predator) and then walk in from the Richfield avenue end by the Cow Lane bridges... the guards may not be able to see you if you blend in, and appear to be giving off less heat.

General Discussion Thread: "So i climbed up a tree and broke my arm"

Look mate it just ends up me breaking my arm :) just stop being so ludicrous

:D

:p

I cycled along the fields last weekend and it's kinda 60% dry and 40% wet. But the ones which are wet are still flooded.

I hope it blimmin pours down, might stop people turning up and innundating Reading with a load of the great un-washed.

Im just glad im away over the weekend, however, getting to work tommorrow and Friday is going to be problematic i expect..

/me prays for heavy downpours.

Lol, same thoughts Ian!! :)

It's bad enough each year when they stink the place out with BO, now it will be stinky muddy people everywhere! lol

It is gonna be a mudwash which ever way you look at it.

Years ago i used to work at the leisure centre, they would pile in, pay for swimming, and jump straight into the pool without showering.

We had to close the pool cause it was sooo dirty!

Not to mention the fact that thefts go to the astronomical level outside the site.
