I'll have a look at knocking something up tonight.
The app I have in mind has simple functionality:
NSTableView with locations
NSMapView (Google maps) with annotated locations tied to the TableView.
The idea I have is that you simply use the table view as you'd use any mac program and it then either uses a distance algorithm or google to work out the distance as the crow flies. Obviously it would require to be online to access google for the maps/distance.
The same app, just recompiled for iPhone and passed to the iPhone store should be straight forward. Although They may complain about it not being shiny enough.
Well the map isn't really needed, there are websites about which will already do that as I linked in the other thread. I'm hoping for something very straightforward which effectively converts the squares to lat/long and then computes the distance and direction between them.
To give an idea of what I'm after, this for Windows is close, but it does too much. Have a look at the screenshot and all I'm interested is in is what's on the left panel, all the stuff on the right is clutter!
This is about all that's needed:
and even that could be chopped down in size
Would you mind posting in the other thread please, Nick, just so that it's all together.
