Hi,

I bought an LG 32LC3R, occasionally when watching sky or a SD dvd I get a "fuzzy" picture. Does anyone else get this?

I don't get this while playing games or watching movie trailers on the 360. The 360 is connected via Component HD AV Cable

My tv is an LG 32LC3R - 32 lcd tv it's connected to the Toshiba SD330E dvd player via scart. The TV is connected to the sky + box via scart cable.

get yourself a PS3

start enjoying hi definition Blu Ray goodness, with a superb inbuilt 1080p upscaling DVD player.

A snip amongst blu ray players at £300

did we also mention it plays games too ?

Or just buy an upscaling DVD player for £40 and carrying on enjoying the 360.
No need for a Blu Station 3 with his setup.

If your not planning on watching many movies then i would get an upscaling DVD player. But, if your wanting to go down the Hi-Def road, then definitely get the PS3 as it is currently and will still be the best Blu-Ray for a good while. Its the most future proof as it can be updated to support the new profiles for blu-ray (current standalone players are profile 1.0, with the very rare one 1.1. The PS3 will be updated to Profile 2.0 which is the next best thing).

No £40 upscaling DVD player will do a better job than his TV would anyway. They are marketing BS and a waste of £40.
If you want to improve on the TV's scaling capabilities then you are looking at around 10x the amount, £400+.

Can you elaborate on the fuzzyness? Perhaps it's interference on the scart cables? What cables are you using?

Mine's less noticeable since I got glasses, but you'll always get some, especially on low grade signals (like some of the heavily compressed sky channels).

I'd agree to check the cables and that as well.

My Skybox looks better set to 'PAL' mode not RGB, and the Toshiba DVD will be better connected through Component so get a component splitter switch or a VGA cable for the 360.

Seriously I wouldnt go Blu-Ray until you can afford a bigger screen and a 1080P one at that, you can rent HD movies from Xbox live anyway. Blu ray only has 2% of the video market and could still go the way of Laser Disc LOL.

LCD's do not cope well with SD signals, whether they cost £400 or £3000. You can improve the image through using different connections and (in some cases) shielded quality cables.

Bear in mind that a lot of the Sky/Sky+ channels are broadcast at very low quality. Sky HD (even if only for the upscaling, not the HD channels) is worth considering. Bear in mind you don't have to take an HD subscription. There may be a £125 quid off offer at the moment but unsure.

LCD really needs good scource material to peform well and when it does, it looks stunning.

I had a samsung 870 dvd player which upscaled and it did improve the picture. It was around £70. So worth it in my opinion if that is the sorta cash you have left over.
