Does anyone still play EQ2 or SWG?

My friend and I used to play these two games heavily years ago but stopped. Lately we've been wanting to play a game casually again but since we haven't upgraded our PC's in about 2-3 years we need to stick to older titles.

Are either of these games still played with a fair few people? We did try and revisit them about 2 years ago or so but most players had dropped off. Just wondering if either community on these games had got bigger again?

Yup jongo is right about swg , logged in recently and it is sadly dieing out , and yes because of soe and its "enhancements" to the game. One prime example of how to ruin a prefectly good game.
 
I used to play SWG religiously when it was fun - since then I've tried it two or three times but it's very boring now and very deserted :(
 
From what I hear EQ2 is in good shape at the moment with a new expansion recently released. You can pick up the game and every expansion for ~ £15 so it's worth a go, I'll probably buy it over Christmas.
 
I quit EQ2 a few months after it came out. Went back to it a few months ago and they've done so much to improve the game, im impressed. EQ2 is definitely worth your money and has plenty of depth.
 
SWG is dead. It now has, according to some, less than 50,000 subs, down from almost 300,000 at its peak. Like others here, I loved SWG. It hurts to talk about it though. Lets move on :p

EQ2 is more popular than it has ever been. Although it is SOE, it does not suffer from the evilness that struck SWG (Lucasarts) and PlanetSide (Lack of sales/money). The general feelings are that the new expansion and other recent updates are fantastic. I used to play it a lot but quit, as like all MMOs it easts your life. My housemate still plays it constantly - he is ranked 3rd worldwide PvP - and from what I can see it is a much better game than it used to be.

It is a much better game than WoW, and always has been, with much more depth, better gameplay, better PvP (Nagafen server), better high end content and better graphics.

In short, EQ2 is well worth your money.

Or you could just play EVE Online, but then it is not a game you play casually!

Im sorry but SWG is not "dead", ive had some of the best PvP for a long time in the recent weeks. Admittely the servers are looking very sparse compared to the old days but everyone seems to be getting it together on the few populated servers that are left. My guild has recently moved to Bria where its been a sweet red dot ride during the alive hours of the west coast of yankie land :)

Its not the shuttle wait it used to be but im cloning just as much as i ever did back in the day :P

How long have you been playing?

Surely you hate the fact that there are only 9 professions and that you can begin the game as a Jedi?
