Does anyone still play EQ2 or SWG?

I'm playing EQ2 at the mo'. Just got the new Kunark expansion pack. Gotta say its the first decent expansion pack for it, massive maps unlike usual. Tons of solo content.

I really only plan on playing it for a month or 2 though when I have exhausted this new expansion. I only see these games as giant single player games mostly :P
 
so what was the difference be fore and after these updates? (never played any mmo, never fancied a subscription.)
 
I remember the whole protests in Correlia / Naboo / Dant MO etc, The whole scale of change didn't hit home until I logged in after the patch was applied, such a sad day.

Not long picked up my 45 month reward, yes its changed dramatically but the guild keeps it together, more of a social thing / pvp event though :)
 
As SOE still don't have issues with emulators at present, should be safe mentioning they are about as there are a few on the go for SWG which are trying to go back to the pre-cu days when the game was fun but it's anyones guess when these will arrive or ever.

They have been mentioned before in here by name but i wasn't naming them just in case the policy on these ones is different from before.

If you played precu I don't understand how you can play it now. I went back in a few months ago when they activated accounts for free. Logged out and uninstalled it about 10 minutes later. It is just complete crap. Make me cry every time I went somewhere and it brought back memories!

SWG as it was is dead. It is not the same game now :)



As for the emulators, they are illegal and immoral and will never play them. I've come to terms with the death of SWG I don't want to do through it all again when whatever emulator I'm playing on gets shut down lol! I wish SOE would hurry up and close them down before they are finished!
 
I re-subbed for an initial month very briefly after the initial CU was released, logged in and started flying out of Coronet on my expensive AV-21 that I assembled personally, only for it to get completely destroyed 5 seconds later by an NPC because of the new faction statuses. Logged out in disgust, and deleted the char; that was the end of that :D

Interesting reading about EQ2, I played the first 2 months of release and thought it was complete poo, but then a lot can happen in 3 years for ANY MMORPG, since WoW was just around the corner and suffered none of the annoyances it pretty much stole everyone.

I can vouch for Guild Wars though, rather fun, no obligation to pay due to no ongoing subscription fee, and you can pick up the campaigns pretty cheap, runs really smooth with great graphics and a compelling storyline!

I must have went through about 30 AV-21's probably more, Running the Vette' became so easy solo it didn't really bother me, my Jedi had to ride in style!
 
I would have loved to play SWG (now that I can afford an MMO)... why the hell did they wreck it?

if it was obvious it was crap after they changed it, why didn't they change it back?


I need a sci fi mmo that isn't terrible (and isn't Eve online)

i cant believe in the credits i see names and guilds i know and used to talk to on team speak or vent all the time.

i know sesse from ez he joined honour and goolz too (i was captain of honour for a while) and towards the end before i quit me and bolo merged pimp with lots of others including dow to form biggest imp guild on server. but all the sploiting leet kids and crap gameplay forced me to quit and stop wasting my time with a game that was destined to die.

i was on chimaera, in ***, exile, ad, honour, legendz, judges, wolf pack alliance, dogs of war (dow) guilds.

played since day dot and the days of shuttle and buff waits and no vehicles.

Haha I also played from the very beginning and can still remember my excitement when they released vehicles... oh and the huge lag it caused next to the vendors with like a 100 speeders driving around :p Good times indeed ^_^
