Does anyone still play everquest 2

Any class on a PvP server is EXACTLY THE SAME as it is on a PvE server. Each spell has a different set of attributes in PvP combat ONLY - usually just less damage - which is to stop basic and low damage spells from doing things like 1 shotting players, who have considerably less HP than any mob, as that would make it totally pointless. The ONLY time this is ever an issue is if you get attacked in a public place while you are currently attacking a mob, but that doesn't happen at all often enough for it to be an issue and most things in the game die in less than a minute anyway.

A PvP Ranger is still exactly as they intended it to be and more as it can now PvP as well! I don't like rangers though *stokes my Wizard hat*

You just admitted they are NOT the same though, as soon as PvP kicks in it all changes.

Totally boring in my opinion.

It's always about an opinion and the fact that we both seem to understand this is why we haven't degraded into name calling like so many forum discussions :)

I don't see why anyone would not want to PvP. The game is not worth playing without it for any significant length of time. The entire point of playing an MMO is to play with others. What's the point in playing with others if you can't kill them too?!

See this I don't get, is there something wrong with just playing with others to achieve things without having to kill each other?

They have improved the game a lot since PvP came out. A lot of the annoying issues have been fixed. But I don't know why you found it chaotic. See my next point below.

Without sounding rude, it's clear you don't, otherwise you would know how to avoid getting ganked and that it is not chaotic at all. A good PvP battle is as organised and precise as a high end raid. Obviously you get people who don't know exactly what they are doing attacking you, but that just makes it easier not chaotic. Raid vs raid PvP can get a little messy, but if you are in a good guild who has members who know their class and can control themselves then you should have no problems.

You're not being at all rude, you're just wrong because I have and EQ2 beta chaos was in the vein of what to be quite honest can only be called online riots.

See now I just don't understand that at all. What other game of its type is more suited to PvP than EQ2 is? The way it is implemented is better than another other MMO out today, other than EVE. Yes, it has a few annoying problems, but they are present in most games so it doesn't bother me.

I wasn't just considering MMO's, try IL2 for starters, a far more satisfying PvP setting.

In what way is your gameplay "dictated to you" by other players? I could go a day without engaging in any PvP if I wanted to, without any major adjustment in what I do or how I go about it. Most important/fun/useful parts of the game are instances anyway.

Even a minor adjustment is an adjustment, something that in a PvE server never has to even thought about. Is PvP even possible inside an instance?

What do you do with your time? You might raid, but that is only a few hours gone, what about the rest? Zones and instances? Surly you get bored of them after you have done them all 20 times? Then what else, maybe mine some nice rocks and craft something? EQ2 has the most boring crafting system in existence! PvP makes the game come alive and means there's always something fun and dynamic to do.

Erm... I have other games and a life outside of EQ2...

I'm not having a go at you or anything, I just don't get it :):p

Me either :)
