Does anyone still watch The Simpsons?

Have you guys seen Archer ? Its a bit more adult but its hilarious...

They still making the Cleveland show? That was complete junk. F.G and A.D though still quality.

The flagrant abuse of rerunning old episodes ruined it for me, whenever i see it in the guide i automatically assume its a repeat so don't bother with it. caught a few of the newer ones, they seemed to have improved upon a few years back but i still default to assuming its a repeat.

Username makes me think of "I am the Lizard Queen!"

Which in turn makes me think of:

"Take those, and those, oh and those."
"Thank you Doctor."
"Oh, I'm not a Doctor."

:D

It became worse and worse, then recently I've found it to be quite funny again. The latest episodes are definitely more amusing, but different to how it used to be. It doesn't feel like The Simpsons of old.

Also, my game of 'If I were Homer in this episode would I die?' has been ruined forever by the fact that he gets hit by the car in the new credits. :(

never watch it now, seems to be random repeats and you always get those daft Halloween episodes when its nowhere near Halloween.

for adult entertainment, compared to family guy its just not funny anymore

It was a few years back now that Matt Groening admitted that 'writing new, fresh material for the Simpsons is getting extremely difficult', and that the series would be brought to a close.
That was several series ago- I guess they've been persuaded to keep going by the network as it is still pulling in profits.
Remember that the Simpsons started the whole 'adult cartoon' thing- Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad et al may not be with us, had it not been for the success of the Simpsons... But I do agree they've flogged the Simpsons to death now.
Futurama was more my bag though.

It's not adult entertainment really, it's always been marketed towards younger people.

Matt Groening doesn't do any of the writing anyway, he's just a producer these days.
I think I read he barely gets involved with it.

Catch an episode every now and then, and they are pretty much awful now. Sometimes i'll catch a newer episode and then a classic, and the difference is amazing tbh

Futurama was pretty terrible when it came back too. Too much pop culture references.

It got better. The second series after coming back was much, much better, though I agree that at first it was terrible.

I have really come to like American Dad lately. Much better than Family Guy, which I can't stand. From season 5 onwards it has been brilliant

Archer, South Park, Bob's Burgers, and The Simpsons. In that order, and I only watch the Simpsons out of obligation.

I was thinking about this the other day, clearly there are people that still watch it but I haven't had any interest in it for 10+ years. Not the same as it used to be. The image at the start of the thread sums it up perfectly IMO!
