This is nonsense, since day one the internet has been full of arguing and trolling.

Maybe but there was a " ultimately this is meaningless/divorced from real life/sideshow" aspect to the internet and so also most interactions, there was a different nature to it imo.

That's changed in the last 10-15 years.

I admit, I dont understand Reddit at all.

Look at a few games subs some times and it just seems to be 95% memes and fan art.
I am probably too old.

It's just another layout for a forum that's all. Threads and Channels are called Subreddits. (Sub Topics) e.t.c

The awards system is absolutely stupid, why pay to give someone an award when you could just literally pay money to that person? Makes no sense tbh.
