See Samsung etc pushing AI now on adverts (I guess a phone is a phone now).

But I'm interested if anyone actually uses it

I'm not a fan of AI myself especially in my personal life as it takes away creativity for me. I certainly don't want it writing emails or things like that.

Only thing I use it for is IDing pics. Like if there's a plant in the garden centre I can find it's name. Or "where was that pic taken?".

But that's it.

Any of you guys see it as an actual selling point?

I made this wonderous creation once.

Care to elaborate?

The translate function has been brilliant in Prague and France, I was basically talking to people in real time.
Also tried it on my Chinese niece who doesn't have good English yet.
The AI picture tricks are amazing and I've been using them this week to mainly crop people out of pictures and add them together on a different background, I made a thread in Photography asking a question but nobody replied :(
I've used it to record conversations and turn them into text.
Also used the person remover from normal pictures many times.

Magic eraser to remove background things in photos and best take in case someone has their eyes closed for example, but nothing really else. I found the generative stuff to be useless.

What I'm not looking forward to is it being bundled in with other things and payimg for it that way.

Heard office 365 personal is going up 20 a year to pay for copilot.

So I'll need an alternative. All i really wanted it for was because one drive works so well for my photo backup. But I don't want to pay for copilot. Have no need for it.

Nope. The photo stuff is rubbish on the Pixel how people say it's good I don't know they must only ever look at their photos from a meter away from the screen the flaws are so obvious.

I got a pop up saying Gemini was a new feature after a phone update.

Asked it to produce a picture of an Integra DC2 cornering hard on a mountain road.

The car looked nothing like an Integra and had really crappy smoke effects coming from the rear wheels of a FWD car...

Not bothered to investigate further.

You can just move back to 365 Classic if you ask support chat, still £79 or less.

Luckily mine renewed in January for 59.99 so will see if this is available for next renewal.

Certainly not paying 85 a year. Worst case I'm move to Google drive. Which actually isn't as good as one drive. As when I delete pics from Samsung gallery they aren't deleted from Google drive.

Very annoying

On my phone? No not at all.

I use GitHub copilot at work and it can be very good in very specific situations but a lot of the time it’s also plain wrong and annoying.
