Does CPU Come With Thermal Paste?

I'm building my first PC, I've got down all the parts I want, the one thing I am unsure on is if I need thermal paste, I assumed I did but a friend told me it should come with some.

Thank you for helping.
Hi,

Intel 'K' CPUs don't come with a cooler or thermal paste - you'll need to buy some separately.

Some choices:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £27.90 (includes shipping: £3.48)

Kyronaut is very slightly better than the rest (so good for a 5ghz 8700k) but it comes in a tiny syringe and doesn't last as long.

I just ordered myself a 8700k/mobo/ram today and got some arctic silver 5 becuase I’ve always has AS as default, it’s still good isn’t it? Or would I have been better off with the Kyronaut stuff?
I’m going to check temps anyway and possibly delid in a few weeks so might swap over the thermal paste then if that stuffs better

Remember that AS5 is conductive do not get it on any resistors etc or the pins/pads on cpu or mobo
I would have gone for grizzly or mx4 myself :)

What’s best for getting off old thermal paste? I see a lot of the guides for cleaning it off the bottom of my old heat sink use rubbing alchohol but I haven’t got any.
