Does everyone hate learners or what?

I remember seeing a program on tv were they did a test. They drove the same route, same car, same speeds etc but once with L plates on and another with out.

they found they got more greif with the L plates on. Other people pulling out in front of them, tailgating etc.

I've had 4 driving lessons so far.

I'm driving down the road at a steady 30mph and EVERYONE wants to overtake or start flashing headlights from behind me whenever possible!

WTF is up with this?

Today I was in a 40mph zone, doing 40mph spot on and still everyone wants to overtake!

Also today, instructor told me that I have priority at some weird T junction with a roundabout. The guy that was supposed to give way was stopped at the threshold. As I drove past, he started honking and flashing me! I was at least 2-3 metres away from him! :(

Luckily, the instructor is bloody awesome, he pulls down the window, starts swearing at them, and sticks his fingers up at them. :)

Never really had issues when I was learning 2 years back now.
Even had an amazing thing of a truck driver give way to me on joining an A road.

Did have a transit and a pickup try to tailgate me, but I just ignored them.
Was kinda funny when the transit tried to overtake.
Transit wanted to make his move once we hit the NSL zone (on a single carriageway - so 60mph) after being in a 30. He had "just" thought about moving over to other side of road to overtake (I could see it in his eyes) when I accelerated from the 30 to 60 (as soon as we hit the NSL sign). Was kind of funny to see a transit half way between lanes with the driver thinking "eh?".

The pickup, was tailgating me right the way though a 30 zone, and yet once we hit 50 he carried on doing the same speed of 30mph ... while I did 50mph, dunno what that was all about.

Did make a biker unhappy once when I almost pulled out on him, but it was his own fault. He was on the outside of an ambulance (no siren) that was turning into the road I was emerging from. The way he was positioned the ambulance completely blocked my view of him. His own fault for being there though.
