For one of my friends 16th birthday, about 10 of us are going paintballing to this place:

anyone been here?

Just wondering, does it hurt when getting hit? It looks great fun, but a few of my friends that have been before come back with lots of massive bruises and stuff of them :p

I got battered the last time I went paintballing. I had bruises the size of apples all across my upper body.

Ok I'm not the best at it...but my head on charges were entertaining for everyone else. Oh..and a couple drew a little blood which was surprising.

Baggy clothes will stop it hurting and stop them exploding.

Always wear gloves cause if it is cold and you get caught between the fingers it will hurt.

Pair of socks down the boxers never hurt anyone and can protect you from that most unfortunate shot.

Not really but it depends where you get hit. While paintballing with my brother a few years ago his mask didn't cover all of his head very well, from point blank range a guy shot him in the head, which is banned, but it managed to give him minor concussion and a lovely lump to go with it. You can still see the mark if ever he gets a suntan.

ok thanks for the advice, ill wear baggy clothes lol.

If theres 10 of us, chances are we will be up against a group we dont no right?

It depends on the place, as some have the gas at a higher pressure which hurts a hell of a lot. I've been shot near enough point blank on the bicep, didnt hurt that much at the time but stung queit a bit at the end.

It doesn't hurt much at all tbh, maybe it's just me, or because of the adrenaline...but at the time it didn't hurt much at all. When I got home though I had huge bruises all over.

it always depends where....anywhere that has a thin covering of skin over bone it always really knacks...so fingers, wrists thats sort of thing

I wore layers to absorb impact..a thin base layer, then a thin fleece then a thicker fleece then the boiler suit/dpm's

also had a fleece scarf to cover my neck then a fleece beanie to cover my exposed head..generally soft and breathable items

I prefer airsofting, but paintballs do hurt quite a bit. Just wear a few layers of clothing and you should be fine. Make sure you wear gloves too, cause in this cold weather getting hit with something that powerful will literally make you cry.

Watch out for getting hit in the neck, there's normally a gap there between what you're wearing and your helmet. My mate got hit there and bled like a stuck pig.

Popping your head up and getting shot right in the face is fun though, do that lots :D

Yer it does. I got hit on the hand, and even with gloves on it burst a few blood vessels creating a bubble of blood under my skin. :(

Only if your a big girl.... :p

I've has some corker bruises though at close range. Gloves are really usefull because being hit on the knuckle on a cold day can smart a bit.

I usually wear a scalf to protect my neck....Wu Tang style.

And I guess it depends on the weather, but last time I went it was god damn boiling. I couldn't wear anything more than a T-shirt + the overalls.
