Does installing an SSD in a laptop invalidate the warranty?

I'm looking for a new laptop with a decently sized SSD, but the only ones I can find are gaming laptops North of 1k, and I only want something with a decent screen for browsing, so I'm thinking of getting a cheaper one with a mechanical HDD and swapping it out for a 500gb SSD.

Does anyone know of any manufacturers that allow this? Cheers.

some do some dont , need to check with each manufacturer individually

I'd find it odd if upgrading the disk or RAM would invalidate your warranty.

Just do it and make sure you don't break any seals. If something goes wrong, stick the old drive in and send it back.

I've never seen a laptop with warranty seals when it comes to RAM/HDD etc. so you should be fine

Thanks for the replies, gives me a few more options if I can get away without breaking any seals, so if anyone spots a 15" 1080P i5/i7 bargain, let me know!

The Lenovo I just fixed I had to break the screw seal just to get to the RAM and HDD although it was out of warranty anyway. Seems like it's common on these cheap laptops that high street shops stock.
