Does it void warranty?

I've heard from some sources that changing the stock fan to an aftermarket fan and changing the thermal paste applied to the CPU VOIDS the warranty on the i7 3770k? Is this true? And if it is is the intel tuning plan a good idea? Thanks for the help :D

I've heard this a few times and from my understanding technically IT does. The Intel 3 year warranty applies to using their stock cooler. But they can't prove it for toffee. We certainly don't hold you to it.

The oem 1 year warranty you can use what cooler you choose. but then the reseller holds the warranty not intel.

However if you deal direct with Intel I believe they will ask you and if you say yes or give them any reason to think you've used after market components and volted the balls off the chip they can void the warranty

Oh right but what about the tuning program? Surely if that covers overclocking it covers changing the fan? I dont understand big companies sometimes -.-
