I watched a guy called tech of tomorrow about nvidia vs AMD. He said if you overclock nvidia gpu's it voids warranty but he said nothing about AMD. I have just received my his iceq 7950 and its a great so far its currently factory overclocked to 925mhz so im only really looking to overclock it when i have to but if it voids warranty then i wont be doing it!.

Yes it does.. but there is no way they could ever find out if you did overclock it?

And in regards to ocuk - I would say they would NEVER reject your RMA on the grounds of overclocking.

The truth is it depends on the manufacturer and that applies to both Nvidia and AMD cards.

It is for this reason people are prepared to pay a premium for MSI, EVGA, Gigabyte cards etc. Those companies give a longer warranty and a quicker turnaround for RMAs etc.

You should be OK to overclock as long as you use the CCC to do the overclocking. Avoid 3rd party OC tools until you are confident. In short, you should be OK.

thanks for the reply's :). also is 62 to 63 on load good temps? when i had my gigabyte 660 ti I was only hitting 55 in metro and 45 in black ops 2 just seems a bit high imo.

Agreed. Kudos to OCUK they even accepted my 7970 for RMA and everyone knows how much fiddling i did with that thing in the accelero thread.

Na, those temps are good..

660ti to a 7950.. Hmmmm..

what do you mean hmmmm haha?

i moved over because nvidia drivers didn't seem to be doing to good every driver i used had something wrong with bf3 like artifacts everywhere/flashing same with crysis 3 there was purple every where lol. Plus i heard that AMD has sorted the latency issues out too, the picture quality and colours seem a bit better too on AMD. If you look at LinusTechTips on youtube a 7950 clocked at 1100mhz is just behind the 770.

cool :) well I think I will leave overclocking it just now.Having some major issues with black screening managed to get it working through bios and it just cuts out whenever it feels like it. It's doing my head in if it keeps doing it over the weekend then i'm sending it back for a refund.

no. if u buy from ocuk. they allow you to overclock without voiding your warranty

No it won't void your warranty. :)

We allow our customers to overclock their cards as much as they wish, we are overclockers UK afterall.

The only way you will void your warranty is if you start removing the cooler or modifying the card in someway like soldering different resistors on it etc.

same goes for cpu, ram, ect.
