I left my garage door remote outside. It then rained more than its ever rained ever before. It now doesn't work.

Is there some sort of way of rescuing electrical devices from the rain? :/

I've taken it to bits and put it in the airing cupboard. The light comes on but... it doesnt open the door. Which suggests it isnt the battery its something else :(

I've taken the battery out now but when I was testing it the battery was still in. Red light came on but.. nothing else happened.

Uh oh.

You jest? This is some satire on the inanity of the questions being asked in GD all too frequently, surely?

If people are now permitted to ask GD which sandwich filling is best then I can ask the worldly wise for advice on water damaged electricals. I'm not an expert on water damaged electronics but who knows, someone on here might be.

It was an amusing faux-stupid thread title. Of course I'm aware that water can damage electronic kit - thats the point in this thread.

It got wet, now it doesnt work - therefore quite obviously water CAN damage electronic kit.

The question in the thread is... how can it be rescued.
