If I were to remove the stickers on my power supply and graphics card, would my warranty be affected in any way?

i dont think so, as long as you dont touch the warranty stickers if there are any...... if it has a code, dont touch it lol.

but i could be wrong.

Only if it states warranty void if removed

I would probably question a warranty/support on the basis of the item has been tampered with, i would at the very least question why you had removed the label, and the methods of removing it and if that affected the item itself.

It would make many think 'why' you have done that.

Although the law may state differently. For customer service a retailer or manufactuer may overlook it. I think it would certainly raise an eyebrow or two.

It could raise doubt, and if trading standards had doubt for example then you would not have a leg to stand on

Is it really worth the risk? If in doubt don't but i cant find a definate answer via google

If you remove a warranty sticker it will void your warranty, if it's a serial number it might make an RMA more difficult.

What is the benefit in removing them? just aesthetic? it's not worth bothering unless you're entering your PC into a beauty contest. :p

Well my power supply has a red sticker, and my graphics card has a green sticker.

The colour scheme I was going for was blue black and silver xD

I'm pretty sure that removing the graphics card stickers won't affect anything because they are just 'decorative'

Not sure about the psu sticker.

If I search on google, it is only other people asking the same question in different forums, or irrelevant things.

I have OCD by the way... >:L

Is removing stickers a characteristic of OCD?

haha, not exactly :p

most traits don't show up, but i have the trait where everything has to be organised and neat and symmetrical.

you should see my room :p

i used to have it more severely though, its fading as i get older. i used to have to do everything a set ammount of times in a specific way etc

the point i'm trying to make is that it would bug me a little bit :) the graphics card was refurb, so i didn't know it was going to be plastered in green. i thought it was standard fermi appearance.

I get that way with doors, windows, the cooker etc. I have to check they're locked, shut, off etc. a certain number of times.

A prime number of times is very popular in my head currently.

You should get a case without a window that way you won't see what's inside.

That may not help though because you'll know it's there even if you can't see it.

all the parts are already ordered :)

its ok though, i will take the stickers off of the graphics card because it will only revert it to stock appearance. also they aren't on straight, and if i'm careful i could stick them to something else in case i need to put them back...

the only thing i'm not sure of is the psu because of the nature of the unit.

More specifically i am talking about removing the red sticker of a 700w ocz modxstream pro.
