Hi all

Sorry if this has been asked before (i did search) but i was wondering if I bought a Sky+ (and dual LNB) from MM or an auction site, would I be able to use time slip and schedule recordings without paying for the subscription of £10 per month?

Nope.

Where are you getting the £10 a month from?

Sky and Sky+ subscriptions cost the same
Sky HD has an extra £10 sub fee

You have to pay an extra £10 a month for Sky+

At least you did last year.

Edit: just looked on the Sky website
Sky+ Free*

*When you subscribe to 2 or more Premium Channels (otherwise £10 a month)

To use Sky+ there is a £10 subscription unless you have a top level package.

I think it may of recently changed.

Nope is has not changed.

Basic sky pack (no movies or sport) will cost the EXTRA £10 for the Plus features
Basic Sky pack (incl) movies will NOT cost extra for Plus
Basic Sky pack (incl) Sports sill NOT cost extra for Plus

Dont you lot agree that sky is a bit expencive? I mean you have to pay an extra £100 for sky plus and then either £10 a month subscrimtion or sign up to a couple of channels that you dont really want in the first place. I remeber a couple of years ago we had the max package (sky offered it to us half price for a few weeks) and it was a load of poo. Its great for the first few weeks and then you relise that a lot of the stuff gets repeated.

If you pay £1000 for a television every couple of years, why not pay ~£40/month to put some decent content through it?

You already pay ~£10/month for a TV licence...

Its a good point. But for someone like me who pays £300 every 4-5 years for a TV, I pay over treble that in Sky subscriptions! And I have the cheapo package at £21 per month!

I suppose that makes sense. Out family tv is a nice Toshiba 42" rear projection that we brought a good 5+ years ago and paid about £2000 for. My dad wont buy another tv, any of that flatscreen hd stuff for atleast another year or two as out old tv is still amazing!

Suppose it just depends to how much your prepared to spend on entertainment. I dont watch that much tv, maybe about 10 hours a week, very max, so maybe thats why i think its bad to spend that much money on sky.
